Engineering Manager - Model Performance
Lead and scale the engineering team responsible for the real-world performance of our AI models across financial use cases.
Atmantara builds foundational AI infrastructure for financial institutions. From real-time fraud detection to multi-model portfolio optimization, we empower financial teams with scalable, secure, and compliant AI capabilities, without the engineering overhead. We're a high-velocity team based in Berlin and remote, working at the intersection of AI, infrastructure, and fintech.
As Engineering Manager, you'll lead a high-leverage team building model evaluation pipelines, ensuring Atmantara's deployed AI outperforms benchmarks and improves customer outcomes.
You'll help hire, coach, and lead engineers focused on speed, reliability, and transparency of deployed ML systems.
- Manage engineers across model serving and performance reliability
- Prioritize technical work and ensure high team velocity
- Guide strategy for evaluating live models in production
- Own delivery of model testing, benchmarking, and drift detection
- Collaborate with leadership on hiring, planning, and roadmap
- Previous experience managing high-performing ML or infra teams
- Strong understanding of AI model pipelines in production
- Skilled in building culture and setting clear technical direction
- Hands-on experience with testing, observability, and uptime metrics
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Previously scaled infra or ML teams at early-stage startups
- Experience building LLM performance monitoring or test harnesses
- Led cross-functional teams focused on model-to-outcome alignment
